Card Show Prep Checklist
Checklist: Buying Sports Cards on eBay
A short checklist for buying raw or graded cards from any eBay seller, including ours.
- Read the whole listing. Check the year, set, card number, parallel and whether it is raw or graded. The title alone can leave things out.
- Study every photo. Look at corners, edges, surface and centering on both front and back. If a photo is missing, ask the seller for it before buying.
- For graded cards, check the cert number. Look the number up on the grading company's own website and confirm the card and grade match the slab in the photos.
- Check seller feedback and the listing's return policy and shipping method.
- Pay on eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers most purchases that are completed and paid for on eBay.com when an item doesn't arrive or doesn't match the listing. Deals made off eBay lose that protection. Read eBay's policy.
- When it arrives, photograph the package before opening, then compare the card to the listing. Report any problem within eBay's time limits.
